Financial Education, key to inclusion and economic empowerment in the Bolivian Amazon
Within the framework of the Bionegocios Guarayos project, financial education has become a strategic tool to promote the inclusion and economic empowerment of women and young entrepreneurs in the Amazon region of Bolivia.
To date, 516 women and young entrepreneurs have been certified in financial education, strengthening their ability to make informed decisions, better manage their income and expenses, and effectively access financial products and services. This achievement not only represents a quantitative advance but also a qualitative one in the economic autonomy of the communities participating in this project.
Participants have taken part in training processes in administrative and financial management, as well as in the creation of self-managed savings and credit groups, a strategy that encourages community organization and economic sustainability from a local perspective.
This training has been key in facilitating access to the Seed Capital Fund, allowing beneficiaries to responsibly manage the resources granted and sustainably consolidate their bionegocios.
Thus, financial education stands as a fundamental pillar of the project, generating real opportunities for inclusion and development in harmony with the conservation of the Amazon forests.
The Bionegocios Guarayos Project is funded by BIDLab, the Swedish Embassy in Bolivia, and the European Union through the EU-Sweden Environmental Platform.
