Savings and Credit Groups

Es un Programa de Alfabetización Digital y Empoderamiento Económico de Mujeres que se implementa a través de la plataforma elearning de aprendizaje.

Within the Agreement with the Bolivian Institute of Forest Research and Tropenbos, four savings and credit groups related to three Community Forest Organizations in the Guarayos region are being piloted, complemented by five financial education modules through tables with the EDUFINA Program, in order to contribute to strengthening the financial management capacities of indigenous, native and/or peasant communities living in the region.

¿What are savings and credit groups?
Groups of 10-20 people who meet voluntarily to save and obtain loans from their savings.

¿Who can participate?
People associated or grouped by a common interest.

¿What can be financed in a savings and credit group?
The credits can be used for any need or emergency, such as: investing in your business, your children’s education, improving your home, among others.

¿How long does a savings and credit cycle last?
The savings and credit cycle can last between 8 to 12 months, with monthly meetings.
